BRAC Bank Limited has recently signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) on cash management with National Life Insurance Company Limited. Mr. Syed Mahbubur Rahman, Managing Director & CEO of BRAC Bank Limited, and Mr. Jamal Mohammed Abu Naser, Managing Director of National Life Insurance Company Limited, signed the agreement in Dhaka. Under the agreement, customers of National Life Insurance Company will be able to deposit their premium at all branches of BRAC Bank across the country.

Mrs. Sarah Ara Mahmud Wife of Martyr Altaf Mahmud (Music Composer of "Aamar Bhaier Rokte Rangano Ekushe February, Aami Ki Bhulite Pari.......) launched the BRAC Bank Sponsored Book (Selim Al Deen: Ordhosomapita geet !) at The Experimental Theatre Hall of Bangladesh Silpakola Academy, Dhaka on 13th January, 2012 in presence of Mrs. Meherunnesa Selim, Wife of Selim Al Deen; Theatre Personalities Mr. Ataur Rahman, Mr. Nasiruddin Yousuff, Pizush Bandhapaddhay; Mr. Zeeshan Kingshuk Huq, Head of Corporate Affairs & Service Quality of BRAC Bank Limited; Mr. Md. January 06, 2012 BRAC Bank employees run marathon for humanity
The employees of BRAC Bank and its subsidiaries bKash, BRAC EPL Investments, BRAC EPL Stock Brokerage and BRAC Saajan have started the new year with a marathon event titled "BRAC Bank DAUR – Kalyaner Pathchala - 2012" to raise fund for humanitarian cause.
Ms. Salma Khatun, Captain of Bangladesh Women Cricket Team, and Ms. Zobera Rahman Linu, table tennis icon, on Friday, January 6, 2012 inaugurated the "BRAC Bank DAUR – Kalyaner Pathchala - 2012" at the centre point of Manik Miah Avenue in presence of Mr. Syed Mahbubur Rahman, Managing Director & CEO, BRAC Bank Limited and Management Committee Members.
The marathon started at 6:30 a.m. in the morning. Around 2,000 employees from BRAC Bank and its subsidiaries had participated in the DAUR that started from the centre point of Manik Miah Avenue towards Khamar Bari, and then crossing Rokeya Shoroni, Agargaon, Mirpur Road Shishu Mela, Asad Gate and finally finishing at the center point of Manik Miah Avenue again.
On the occasion, the employees raised a fund of Tk. 9 lac, and the company doubled it from its CSR fund. BRAC Bank first started the marathon for humanity in 2011.
BRAC Bank has donated Tk. 6 lac to Bangladesh Association for the Aged and Institute of Geriatric Medicine (BAAIGM) which runs a hospital, old home and institute for old aged people. After the marathon, Mr. Syed Mahbubur Rahman, Managing Director & CEO, BRAC Bank Limited, handed over the cheque to Captain A. K. M. Shamsul Hoque (retd.), Secretary General of BAAIGM.
A portion of the fund was utilized to distribute blankets to cold affected people in North Bengal. Officials of the bank had distributed blankets in five districts in the northern region during the last week of December, 2011.
In this memorable event, Mr. Syed Mahbubur Rahman, Managing Director & CEO, BRAC Bank Limited, said, “BRAC Bank always comes forward for the sake of humanity. Inspired by the bank’s vision, our colleagues have also launched a praiseworthy initiative of marathon by raising voluntary fund for welfare of people. Today's event marks a great start of the new year with this noble initiative!"
