CORPORATE SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY
As part of the BRAC family, BRAC Bank is committed to
embodying BRAC's ethos in our CSR initiatives. Our CSR mission at BRAC Bank is
to break the financial barriers and social taboos, create opportunities, and
ensure access for people to realize their potential and live meaningful lives.
At BRAC Bank, we are guided by
the 3P philosophy: People-Planet-Prosperity. This comprehensive
approach drives us to integrate policies and practices that encompass social,
environmental, ethical, human rights, and consumer issues into our business
operations and overall strategy. We work closely with our stakeholders,
strictly adhering to the CSR Policy Guideline of Bangladesh Bank, the
principles of the United Nations Global Compact (UNGC), and the Global Alliance
for Banking on Values (GABV).
Our CSR investment approach aligns with our ambition
to develop impactful social programs that uplift people and the planet. As one
of the leading financial institutions in Bangladesh, we allocate our resources
to make a meaningful difference in the communities where we operate. This is
achieved by leveraging our institutional capabilities and encouraging employees
to volunteer their time, skills, and ideas in our social service activities.
Importantly, our social investments prioritize long-term projects that are
aligned with the SDGs and guidelines from our central bank.
Our primary CSR focus areas at BRAC Bank are diverse
and comprehensive. They encompass education, healthcare, the environment,
climate change mitigation and adaptation, disaster management, sports, culture,
and literature. Each area is a testament to our commitment to making a
meaningful difference in our communities.
In 2022, BRAC Bank established a strategic framework
that reflects our belief that everyone deserves the opportunity to live a
meaningful life. This framework guides our CSR initiatives, which comply with
the policy guidelines on corporate social responsibility for banks and
financial institutions (SFD Circular No. 01; issued 09 January 2022).
